Monthly Networking and Training Events

The East African Business Association hosts monthly networking and training events to help our members meet other community leaders and to learn about important topics.

Our Emerging Leaders group will offer networking training, ensuring that the next generation is well-connected throughout the region. These monthly meetings will take place in venues throughout the metro and will often involve other chamber’s young professionals.

Members are invited to host events at their place of business.

Each quarter the East African Business Association will invite elected officials to our African Power Lunch program. This is your chance to meet with the people influencing issues affecting our community.

Business Growth

Today, over 120,000 East Africans are living in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Like the millions of immigrants who have come before them, they strive to be mainstreamed into the local economy.

Certification

The East African Business Association is here to help our community to engage on a deeper level.  When you join the association, you will be registered as a Minority Business Enterprise, a certification that gives your business an advantage in the bidding process for city, county, state, and federal contracts.  The East African Business Association has a partnership with the African Development Center to work with our members to get this important certification.

Training & Focus Groups

Most businesses in the US fail because of management failures.  It isn’t because of a lack of revenue or sales. The East African Business Association offers training in accounting, human resources, budgeting, and operations.

We will have focus groups in the following areas:

  • Health Care Providers
  • Transportation
  • Retail
  • Technology
